Cambridge University’s Museum of Zoology

Monday, 27 January 2025, (morning visit; Event Number 2501)

The Museum of Zoology contains many wonderful treasures, including specimens collected by naturalists Charles Darwin and Alfred Russel Wallace.  This world-renowned Museum was extensively redeveloped in 2018, thanks to the Heritage Lottery Fund, and is open to the public and used for academic study.  Thousands of objects are on display from the skeletons of the extinct Dodo to the 21-metre-long Fin whale.

Our exclusive visit will begin in the Learning Lab over refreshments with an introduction by Jack Ashby, Assistant Director.  This will be followed by a gallery tour with Matthew Lowe, Collections Manager and a handling session with Roz Wade, Senior Learning and Engagement Coordinator.
