Art Friends Cambridgeshire was registered as a charity (Charity Commission Number 1188903) in 2019 with the aim of organising lectures, events and visits and making grants to support museums, galleries, and the heritage sector, and education in the visual arts. Many of our members were supporters of the Art Fund Cambridgeshire fundraising committee until the Art Fund disbanded its county committees in 2019.

The Management Committee also act as Trustees. The Officers are: David Way (Chairman); (Secretary – currently vacant); and Richard Medland (Treasurer). Jenny Josselyn and Ann Keith are also members of the Committee. A small team of volunteers helps the Management Committee in various ways including organising events and outings and maintaining the website.

Winding up the Charity: Since our foundation our Members have enjoyed a wide range of interesting events, lectures and visits, as a result of which we have been able to make grants to a similarly wide range of projects.

Despite this success, we are no longer able to sustain this level of activity, in common with many other small organisations. We have now held our final, Celebratory Event, and are winding up our activities.

The Management Committee elected in 2025 remains in office until the final closure of Art Friends Cambridgeshire has been completed.
