A TASTE OF SCULPTURE IN CAMBRIDGE: introducing Cambridge Sculpture Trails.

Friday, 9 January 2026, (morning talk; Event Number 2601)

There are well over 100 public sculptures by eminent contemporary and modern sculptors dotted throughout Cambridge and its Colleges. These have been collected into four trails, a project initiated to encourage the public to see the sculptural riches we have in the town and university. Richard Bray, Karina Plough and Heather Warwick, who now voluntarily run the project, will give us a virtual tour of some of the sculptures and tell us about how the Sculpture Trails app and website work and how they are kept up to date.  It is surprising how easy it is to walk past or over sculptures without noticing them, the app and website open our eyes with pertinent descriptions of the sculptures and the app is fun to use as you walk about.

We made a donation to the Cambridge Sculpture Trails a few years ago and the proceeds of this talk will help them to continue to maintain the app and website and the profile of Cambridge’s sculpture worldwide.
