Wednesday, 7 May 2025. Morning visit. (Event Number 2504)
This event takes place in a village about 8 miles outside Cambridge. We shall start at the village church, which is one of Simon Jenkins’ 1000 Best Churches. A local historian will introduce us to the building which is full of interesting features, including a remarkable family monument to ancestors of the family we are learning about.
Then we shall drive a short way to the home of the family which is the focus of our visit and learn more of their history, referring in particular to a couple of portraits and some items in the family collection. Lunch is not included, but do join some of us in a pub nearby.
