Tuesday, 15 June 2021 (evening; Event 208)
We are delighted to have rearranged our cancelled visit to St Giles’ Church, on Castle Hill, which lends itself well to an event under social distancing rules, albeit for a limited number. We will be introduced to the church’s interesting history and the richness of its interior furnishings by the Treasurer of the Friends, a former member of the clergy at St Giles’. Included are remnants of the original 11C church incorporated into the refurbished fabric, stained glass by C.E. Kempe and Co, Comper and others, magnificent carving and decorative work in the chancel and more. Some beautiful embroidered processional banners and vestments will also be on display for us.
- In aid of: Friends of St Giles’ Church Window Appeal
- Start time and meeting point: 6.00 pm outside St Giles’ Church, CB3 0AQ
